About Your Bill
Since Choptank Electric is open to electric choice, the bill is itemized to show all of the charges that add up to the total. This allows members to compare the generation charge to other offers from electricity suppliers. If you have any questions about your bill, please call Choptank's Member Service Center toll-free at 1-877-892-0001.
|Service Bill Convenience
The cooperative mails (unless you receive a paperless bill from SmartHub) each of its members a service bill, which includes the electric bill and all services and products purchased from Choptank Electric or one of its subsidiaries.
|Level Billing Payment Plan
If you are trying to budget your monthly electric bill, this might be an option for you. The Co-op re-evaluates your payment plan every 4 months for accuracy. For more information about this plan, please call our Member Service Center at 1-877-892-0001.
For members who may have difficulty meeting bill due dates, you could be eligible for the Bill Extender Plan. A Bill extender allows the Co-op to extend the due date of the bill that becomes past due in accordance with provisions of the Maryland Code. Pay Online with SmartHub
Paying your bill online has never been easier with SmartHub our secure billing process. SmartHub is easy, convenient, and simple. You can get billing notifications, report outages, pay your bill, go paperless, and much more. There are no fees for paying online.

Pay Now is a fast, easy, and convenient way to make a one-time payment on your bill. Members do not have to register with SmartHub to use this option.
Bank Draft Authorization
Bank Draft Authorization (BDA) is an electronic bill payment program that permits Choptank Electric Cooperative to deduct money from your bank, savings, and/or loan or credit union checking account to pay your monthly electric bill.
For complete details and an application form, call our Member Service Center at 1.877.892.0001 or visit your local Cooperative office. You may also download a copy of the form and mail it to us or drop it off at your local Choptank Electric office.
Payment by Mail
Mail in your payment stub with a check or money order. Please do not send cash. Write your account number on the check to ensure the credit is applied properly.
Payments may be made through our drop boxes located in Denton and Salisbury. Any payments made through the drop box locations are posted on the next business day.

Recurring Credit Card Authorization
Recurring Credit Card Authorization is an electronic payment program that permits Choptank Electric Cooperative to charge your credit card (Visa or MasterCard) each month to pay your electric bill. You may discontinue this payment type any time with written notification, by contacting the Member Service Center at 1.877.892.0001 Monday - Friday from 8:00am. - 4:30pm., or you may sign up, modify, or discontinue this service using your SmartHub account at any time.

Automated Member Service Line
This secure member service line can also be used as a payment service. When you call the automated number, you have the opportunity to access information like the total of your last bill, total of all payments the Co-op has received since the last bill, the current payment amount due, update your current 10-digit phone number at any time, or pay your monthly bill by Visa, Mastercard, or check with no fee.
Walk-in payments may be made at the local offices in Denton and Salisbury during normal business hours from Monday - Friday between 8:00am - 4:30pm. Payments made in any office after 3:00pm will post on the next business day. The Denton office has a convenient drive-up window, and any payments made at the drive-up window after 3:00p.m. will also be posted the next business day.
